Wen Zhang

你好！My name is Wen, and I’m from Meizhou, a small city in Guangdong Province, China. While Guangdong is often associated with Cantonese, my hometown is known for the Hakka dialect, a unique part of our cultural heritage. The weather there is warm year-round, and if you visit, you’ll be warmly welcomed with local favorites like red pomelos and braised pork with preserved vegetables. We also have a traditional type of architecture called weilongwu, a circular residence where extended families live closely together, reflecting our values of unity and harmony. As a Reach Ambassador, I am excited to share the richness of Chinese culture and traditions. From Tang poetry and ink-wash painting to Confucian philosophy and the fascinating evolution of Chinese characters, there’s so much beauty and depth I look forward to introducing. I’m also passionate about the stunning landscapes across China and its unique wildlife, especially our beloved pandas. I can’t wait to meet you, share stories, and learn from cultures around the world. This is also a wonderful opportunity for me to practice cultural humility as a future counselor!
