Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I’m a junior majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology with a certificate in Data Science. Outside of academics, I enjoy going for walks and practicing yoga. Over the past year, I participated in the WISCIENCE Transfer Student Mentoring program, which allowed me to connect with many peers, including international students. I’m not only an international student myself, but I also transferred from a university in Korea after completing the first year — and to be honest, adjusting to college life in the United States wasn’t easy. Because of that experience, I deeply understand the loneliness, fear, and sense of isolation that international students might feel when living and studying far from home and family. I’m excited to support fellow international badgers as they adjust to campus life, and I’m committed to helping them build a meaningful and fulfilling experience here!

안녕하세요! 저는 Jennifer이고, Molecular and Cell Biology를 전공하고 Data Science certificate을 하고 있는 3학년 학생입니다. 저는 학업 외 시간에는 산책을 하거나 요가하는 것을 좋아합니다. 지난 1년 동안 저는 WISCIENCE 편입생 멘토링 프로그램에 참여하면서 많은 친구들, 특히 국제 학생들과 교류할 수 있는 기회를 가졌습니다. 저는 국제 학생일 뿐만 아니라, 한국의 대학교에서 1학년을 마친 후 미국으로 편입한 편입생이기도 합니다. 솔직히 말하면, 미국에서의 대학 생활에 적응하는 건 쉽지 않았습니다. 그랬기 때문에, 저는 국제 학생들이 고향과 가족으로부터 멀리 떨어져 살며 공부할 때 느끼는 외로움, 두려움, 그리고 고립감을 깊이 이해하고 있습니다. 저는 국제 학생들이 캠퍼스 생활에 잘 적응할 수 있도록 도와드릴 수 있어 매우 기쁘고, 동료 국제 학생들이 이곳에서 의미 있고 만족스러운 경험을 쌓아갈 수 있도록 최선을 다해 돕고 싶습니다!
