Hi everyone! My name is Shu Kai, and I am a third-year undergraduate student majoring in Psychology with a certificate in Athletic Healthcare. I am an international student from Malaysia, and I speak English, Mandarin, and Malay. I have lived in Malaysia for 19 years and decided to come to UW-Madison to further my education in the field of Psychology. My journey to where I am today was not an easy one and had its ups and downs. However, having support from resources such as International Student Services and other organizations gave me a comforting feeling of home. That is what I would strive to accomplish during my time as an ISAB member. I would do my best to advocate for international students to be in the most comfortable environment possible during their time at UW-Madison. I had an enjoyable time as a student with all the love and support that was given to me, and I think it’s only fair that all international students feel that way as well. I like to think that student satisfaction plays a major role in their development and how successful they will be in the future. Thus, I hope to share my knowledge and experiences to contribute to creating a more enjoyable climate for the students to learn and grow. I believe that whenever a door closes, another one opens, and you just need the courage to walk right through it. I think that I can be that person to welcome students through that doorway and connect them to opportunities that they may not have even known about. With that being said, I look forward to building a greater future that will give every international student a shot at greatness. Go Badgers!
