Rose Mir Ramisa Raiyan

Hello! My name is Rose and I’m from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I’m an undergraduate in my 3rd year majoring in Economics with a Math Emphasis (Honors) and Global Health with certificates (minors) in Data Science and Leadership! Alongside studies, I perform various roles across campus such as being a House-Fellow (RA) with UW Housing in Witte Residence Hall, being a Peer Mentor at WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) as well as working with Desk Services during the semester. Besides this, I’m the president of OHM, the Vice President of Bangladeshi Students Association and Secretary in the Harry Potter Club. I’m also an active sister in Alpha Omega Epsilon Sorority, Omicron Chapter and am involved in Women In Economics, Economics Students association and Society for Human Resource Management. During the summer I had an internship with UW-Madison’s Human Resources Department in their Learning, Talent and Development Team. As a member of ISAB, my aim is to make all international students feel like Madison is their home away from home, and to do that I plan on working on getting students settle into their right homes! I’m very passionate about the housing situation in Madison and aim to work in this sector to improve resources specifically for international students. Alongside housing, I also aim to educate international students on everyday topics such as the right method of transportation for them as well as the importance of food and clean cooking to ensure a healthy lifestyle. As international students, we often forget to take care of ourselves – mind and body – when we are chasing after our goals. My aim is to make sure that this is done in a healthy manner that will improve the overall wellbeing of the international student community here at UW Madison. Most importantly, I am here to make sure every student feels heard, welcomed and cherished. As always, Go Badgers, On Wisconsin!
