Omar O. Dumdum
Credentials: International Student Advisory Board Member 2021-22
Position title: Hometown: Cebu, Philippines
I am a PhD candidate in Mass Communication, double minor in Political Science and Global Studies. I am currently working on my dissertation that broadly looks at the news media’s role in international relations. My favorite things about UW-Madison are Lake Mendota and Lake Monona. The ISS has helped me in my journey as an international student, and after four years I think I am now in a position to give something in return and help improve their services. It is also important to realize that international students help sustain the ISS, so for me the ISAB is both an accountability mechanism and an advocacy platform, where ISAB members become a link to the ISS and international students.
