About ISS
International Student Services (ISS) recognizes international students as a vital part of UW–Madison. Through our Global Engagement Team (GET), we seek to intentionally and holistically support international students, campus, and the Madison community through coordinating events and programs that foster a sense of belonging, promote advocacy, and enhance global engagement.
ISS collaborates with student organizations to share about different cultures on campus and to create a sense of community and a place for students to come together and learn. If your RSO shares our values and goals, we would love to connect with you about dual-registering with ISS.
RSOs who dual register with ISS gain access to the following benefits:
- Sign up to host Global Café before non-dual registered RSOs
- Priority sign up to table at the International Student Welcome and Information Fair (ISWIF)
- Qualify for more funding from the Global Badger Experience Grant (GBEG)
- Provide feedback and suggestions to ISS to improve the International Student Experience at UW–Madison.
Expectations
- Maintain professional and reliable communication with the ISS staff. This includes replying to emails in a timely manner.
- Send at least one representative to attend ISS Dual Registered Student Organization meeting held each semester.
- Be open to sharing your culture with interested international students while being respectful that they may not share the same views.
- Assist in the promotion of ISS co-curricular programs and events (ex. via web, email, social media, group meetings, etc.).
- Be open to collaborating with ISS by leading a Global Cafe, participating in the International Student Welcome and Information Fair (ISWIF), and/ or helping with other events to support the international community at UW–Madison.
ISS Dual-Registered RSO Welcome Information Sessions are hosted at the beginning of each semester! Stay tuned for updates on the next session.
