Hi! My name is Lilian, and I’m from Kenya. I’m a PhD candidate in the Second Language Acquisition program. Alongside my studies, I serve as the TA Coordinator for Multicultural and Social Justice Initiatives in the Writing Center, where I collaborate with students, instructors, and campus communities to support inclusive learning spaces and culturally sustaining approaches to writing pedagogy. As an international student, I understand the importance of building community and sharing cultures across diverse campus spaces, and I foster these connections through my roles as an International Peer Mentor and International Reach Ambassador with International Student Services. I also recognize the challenges international students experience as they navigate campus life, and as a member of ISSAB, I hope to improve their experiences by amplifying their voices and advocating for their needs.
