Welcome New International Students!
The ISS staff is looking forward to meeting you and welcoming you to UW-Madison.
Please see the information below about orientation for new students beginning their program or returning on an initial attendance I-20 for fall 2016.
Although you will be invited and required to attend a variety of orientation programs, the ISS Orientation is MANDATORY and is designed specifically to address the needs of international students. The US Department of Homeland Security requires international student visa holders to register with their school prior to beginning their academic program in the U.S.¬† By checking in and attending an ISS orientation, you will be completing this mandatory obligation.¬†¬†
STEP 1: Log into MyUW
Note: These two system do not communicate with each other so they need to be updated separately.
Please complete step 1 before coming to check in.
STEP 2: Check in
If you missed ISS check in, please come to ISS in the Red Gym, Room 217 with the following: your passport, I-20 or DS-2019, your local address in Madison, and your Net ID and password for MyUW so that we can scan your documents and verify that you have completed step 1 above.¬†

STEP 3: Attend ISS orientation
ISS has scheduled make-up orientations in case you missed it. This is your final chance to complete your mandatory requirement so don‚Äôt forget!¬† Please plan on attending one of the three sessions below:
Wednesday, September 14
Tuesday, September 20
Thursday, September 29
Red Gym - Media Room -- 3:00 - 4:30pm
This session will cover important information so that you can maintain valid J1 or F1 status while you are here in the United States.
