STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Welcome to UW-MADISON

International Student Services helps make UW-Madison a welcoming, supportive and accessible campus for students with disabilities. ISS combines advising on immigration issues for F-1 and J-1 student visa holders with educational and social programming to help our students adjust to life in the US and life on campus.

We serve as advocates for our students with any issues they may face during their studies here. We’ve partnered with the McBurney Disability Resource Center to enable our students to successfully complete their educational and personal goals at the university. The McBurney staff work diligently with students to provide accommodation services, to assist students in finding their strengths and to advocate for student resources. Each and every student at UW is part of the campus community. Our international students enrich the campus with academic and cultural diversity. Together we strive to ensure our students have a positive educational experience in the USA.

Information about the Americans with Disabilities Act for UW Campus students – international and domestic:

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provides that no qualified individual with a disability be denied access to or participation in services, programs, and activities at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This act applies to virtually all aspects of campus activities, including employment, student programming, and services provided to the community at large.

At UW-Madison, international students and domestic students receive the same services and resources available to assist with disabilities. Students may inquire with the following offices to find out if accommodations can be made for any documented disabilities. Please see the links below for various campus and national resources:
