International Student Advisory Board 2021-22 Application Information

International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) is seeking motivated international students who are passionate about advocating to improve the international student experience and interested in gaining leadership experience. Selected ISAB members represent international students by working closely with ISS to provide advice and voice issues that impact the Global Badger community. ISAB members also participate in retreats and get-together throughout the year where they can get to know other members, participate in discussions and activities, and develop personal skills.

Become a member of ISAB 2021-22!
The ISAB consists of approximately 5-7 selected members. Current ISAB members will need to complete a new ISAB application for each year of service.

Must be enrolled at University of Wisconsin-Madison
Must be able to commit to full-year term and attend all the required monthly meetings
Passionate about advocating to improve the international student experience
In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)

ISAB Duties and Expectations

Attend Monthly ISAB meetings (check schedule below)
Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the ISS services and programs
Conduct research to advocate for our larger international student community
Represent the voices of your international student peers to ISS staff and leadership
Learn about ISS resources and communications and share with peers
Help with representation/presentation if requested
Communicate in a timely manner for:
email/Teams communication
representation/presentation requests
feedback requests

Summer 2021: Optional meeting and get-together, ISAB website updates & planning for next year

August 2021: ISAB presentation at new student orientation

September – December 2021: Mandatory monthly meetings

February – April 2022: Mandatory monthly meetings & Appreciation reception

3. If selected, attend the New Board Member Get-Together in April (virtual).
