Conference Assistance Grants

This year the Wisconsin NAFSA Team is pleased to announce that it has designated $1410.00 in Conference Assistance Grants.

These awards will be given in three categories:

1. A waiver of the conference registration fee for community members and students (6 awards at $65)

2. A waiver of the conference registration fee for professional and support staff (6 awards at $95)

3. A reimbursable travel grant that can be used to subsidize workshop and/or conference registration fees, hotel costs, or travel expenses (6 awards at $75)

Eligibility and Application Procedures

For a Community Member or Full-time Student Conference Fee Waiver:

1. For community member conference fee waiver: Nominate yourself or another individual by submitting a statement of purpose that describes your volunteer activities and commitment to fostering international educational exchange through community involvement.

2. For student conference fee waiver: must work in or volunteer with an international office.
Submit a statement of purpose describing your involvement in international education.

For a Professional and Support Staff Conference Fee Waiver
 
1. Professional Staff: must work in an international education environment. Submit a statement of purpose describing your interest in the conference and how your participation will benefit you personally and professionally.

2. Support Staff: must work in an international education office having some direct contact with students. Submit a letter of nomination from your supervisor.
 
You must submit payment for the conference fee at the time of registration. The registration fee will be reimbursed to Grant winners following the conference.

For Travel Grant Reimbursement:

These awards are intended for those living outside the conference area, so preference will be given to applicants not residing in Southern Wisconsin. The award is made on a reimbursement basis following the conference and upon copies of conference-related receipts being sent to the conference chair. The award is meant to subsidize costs and is not sufficient to cover all costs. Submit a statement of purpose describing your involvement in international education (either in your volunteer, student, or professional/support staff capacity), and how the conference participation will benefit you.

 

Grant Application Deadline is March 17, 2008
