LICENSES


In Wisconsin, you must have a license for the following purposes:

  • drive a motor vehicle (see DRIVER'S LICENSE)
  • get married (see below)
  • practice medicine, nursing, dentistry, law, or several other professions
  • teach in a public school
  • own a motor vehicle (see CAR), motor boat, sail boat over 12 feet long
  • own a snowmobile or a bicycle (see BIKES)
  • hunt or fish
  • own a dog or a cat.

You do not need a license to own a radio or television.


MARRIAGE LICENSE

Marriage Licenses are issued in the Dane County Clerk's Office, Room 112, City-County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., open Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Contact the office for more information. http://www.co.dane.wi.us/coclerk/marriagemenu.htm
