ISS is a welcoming and affirming office for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities. ISS' primary role is to provide advice, support, programming, and advocacy for F-1 and J-1 international students. While we most frequently see students in our office for immigration-related advice and guidance, we know you have other questions, concerns, passions, and interests. We are here to help you with multiple aspects of your transition and experience at UW-Madison.
We know that LGBTQ international students bring unique strengths, perspectives, and life experiences to our campus, and we are happy you are here. College is an exciting time to learn about yourself and others. We hope that you will find ISS and UW-Madison to be a safe and enriching environment to explore and understand yourself and others from a variety of perspectives and worldviews.
Our goal with this website is to be a resource, ally, and support to you! We welcome suggestions to improve our LGBTQ International website and services. If you have ideas for website content, workshops, or activities you'd like coordinated or hosted by ISS, let us know.
If you would like to contact or speak with LGBTQ-identified or ally staff members at International Student Services, send us an email to hatch@studentlife.wisc.edu or call 608-262-3468. Someone will respond to your request in a confidential manner.
