Information on funding your education
Below are some resources that can be helpful when trying to estimate the total cost of attendance at UW-Madison:
The ISS Student Immigration Documents Budget:
http://www.iss.wisc.edu/upload/documents/Budget1112.pdf
The current tuition rates:
http://registrar.wisc.edu/tuition_&_fees.htm
The Graduate School’s estimate of costs for students with assistantships:

The Office of Student Financial Aid at UW-Madison calculates the average cost of attendance, depending on the type of student you are (undergraduate, graduate, etc.). There is no separate category for international students. For tuition and cost of living purposes, international students are simply considered “non-resident” students. Therefore, it is assumed that their costs would be the same as a U.S. student who is not from Wisconsin (or Minnesota). Please visit the financial aid website at http://www.finaid.wisc.edu/index.php?module=articles&catid=92&ptid=9 for estimated costs.*
In addition, international students are required to purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP), http://www.uhs.wisc.edu/home.jsp?cat_id=116, if they do not have an assistantship at the University that includes health insurance. The ISS Student Immigration Documents Budget (see link above) includes the cost of SHIP.
*International students may want to increase the amount for travel when using this tool if they intend to travel home yearly.
