Madison, WI: Overcast, 42 ¬įF / 6 ¬įC
International Student Services (ISS) offers a wide variety of services and programs to international students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The ISS staff provides information and programs to international students about the campus and community and provide support and assistance concerning visas and related immigration issues.
Welcome New International Students!
Please see the information below about Orientation. Please return often for updates as plans continue to be made for other services and events available for our new students.
Why must you attend ISS Orientation?
Although you will be invited and required to attend a variety of orientation programs, the ISS Orientation is MANDATORY and is designed specifically to address the needs of international students. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires international student visa holders to register with their school prior to beginning their academic program in the U.S. Attending the ISS orientation is part of this mandatory requirement.
Also mandatory is the scanning of your immigration documents: passport and I-20 (F-1 student) or DS-2019 (J-1 student). You should have your documents scanned shortly after your arrival to campus and before your orientation session. Upon scanning your immigration documents, you will receive an orange ISS receipt. You are required to bring this receipt to your ISS orientation.
